Travel Tips

Flights

Remember to reconfirm your flights 72 hours prior to departure. We will reconfirm your outgoing flight but for your return flight I recommend that you go to guest services at your hotel two days prior to your return flight date. This is to ensure that there were no flight changes etc.

Names

Please ensure that the traveller names and surnames are according to your ID / passport as failure to do so could cause inconvenience and / or your could be denied to board your flight by the airline.

Fares

All fares are subject to seat availability at the time of booking, fares are subject to change due to currency fluctuation or airfare/tour increases without prior warning.

Refunds

In the case of a refund it is up to the hotel / airline / service provider discretion. Please ensure that you have travel insurance in case of a medical emergency that can also lead to cancellation. We charge a service fee of R350.00 to handle your refund application.

Travel Insurance

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have adequate medical and travel insurance. We strongly recommend that you take our travel insurance over and above your credit card insurance, please contact us for a quote.

Foreign Exchange

When buying your travel insurance you need to take your air ticket and passport with you. Please contact us for your voucher that you can present to American Express for the best rates.

Passport

You need to ensure that your passport is valid for 6 months from the date of return from your trip.

Visas

It is your responsibility to check your visa requirements.

South Africans applying for European visas need to do this at least 3 months prior to your trip.

South Africans do NOT require visas for Kenya, Mauritius, Maldives, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mozambique.

South Africans get their Tanzanian/Zanzibar visa on arrival for USD50.00 per adult.

Departure taxes

Please ensure that you check these requirements.

Health

Ensure that you pack a small medical aid kit and that you check the health requirements at least 2 weeks before you travel.

South Africans travelling to Tanzania require a yellow fever certificate.

Kruger / Mozambique / Kenya / Tanzania / Zanzibar are all low risk malaria areas.

Luggage

Economy class 20 kg per adult and First class 30 kg per adult. We recommend packing light and if you are traveling on a small charter airline inside Africa you can only take 15kg per adult. Remember to mark your luggage clearly. Don’t put your most valuable possessions in your check in luggage; rather take it in your hand luggage. Remember that you have to seal all fluids.
